Star Wars #19
Marvel's Star Wars #19 from January 1979 brings "The Ultimate Gamble!" with a cover by Carmine Infantino and Bob Wiacek that packs in the full ensemble — Luke Skywalker's determined face looms large above the Millennium Falcon, while C-3PO, Princess Leia, Han Solo, and Chewbacca surround an ominous skull motif against the star-filled void. The tagline "Trapped on a Man-Made Wheel of Death!" promises high-stakes peril for the Star Warriors, making this a genuinely gripping entry in Marvel's original run. Archie Goodwin and Carmine Infantino were turning out some compelling galaxy-spanning adventures at this point in the series.
