Star Trek / Green Lantern #2
The 2015 crossover event between two beloved sci-fi universes heats up in issue #2 of Star Trek / Green Lantern: The Spectrum War, with a cover by Paul Pope that pulls no punches — Hal Jordan in full Green Lantern uniform locks hands in a tense, energy-charged standoff with Captain Kirk in his Starfleet gold, neither man willing to yield. Looming in the background, a dark and menacing Star Sapphire figure adds a sharp sense of threat to an already volatile confrontation. Mike Johnson scripts, with interior art by Angel Hernández and colors by Alejandro Sánchez, making this six-part series one of the more ambitious genre mashups IDW and DC tackled together.

The reactivated rings find new hosts: the yellow ring chooses Klingon General Chang, the blue ring chooses Chekov, the violet ring choose Uhura, and the indigo ring chooses McCoy. The red ring travels to the home planet of the Gorn to choose a host, and the orange ring travels to Romulus and chooses Praetor Decius. Hal and the Enterprise crew stop Chang's yellow-powered attack, but Chang returns to Qo'nos and kills the Klingon council. As he is about to seize control of the Klingon empire, Sinestro shows up to confront him.
