Spooky #3

Harvey Comics' "tuff little ghost" is in fine mischievous form on this 1956 cover, as Spooky — derby hat and scowl firmly in place — comes swooping down atop a giant spotlight, sending a handful of tiny figures below scrambling in every direction across the grass. The star-scattered purple sky gives the whole scene a wonderfully spooky atmosphere that perfectly suits Harvey's pint-sized phantom. At just a dime, Spooky #3 is a charming slice of mid-1950s all-ages comics fun.
