Spider-Man: Lifeline #3

The concluding chapter of this 2001 three-part Marvel miniseries arrives with a cover by Steve Rude that pulls no punches: Spider-Man lunges dynamically through a shattered environment while a fearsome, lab-coat-clad Lizard — all scales, claws, and snapping jaws — dominates the foreground below him. Rude's painterly composition captures both characters at full intensity, the debris-filled background amplifying the sense of a confrontation pushed to its absolute limit. With Fabian Nicieza's script and Rude's linework bringing "A Taste of Infinity" to its finale, this is a satisfying capstone to the Lifeline story.
