Spider-Boy #18
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeSpider-Boy #18 opens the three-part 'Full Circle' arc — the concluding chapter of Dan Slott's entire run on the series — bringing the book's two major villain threads, Mister Negative and Madame Monstrosity (Melodia Stillwell), into direct collision with Bailey Briggs's personal history for the first time. The issue is structurally significant as the narrative hinge on which every major relationship Slott built across the series pivots: Spider-Man's cardinal rule against Bailey facing A-list villains is about to be shattered, and the emotional stakes surrounding Tabitha Briggs and the F.E.A.S.T. setting tie the Spider-Boy mythos back into the wider Spider-Man corner of the Marvel Universe. It also marks a late-series moment of thematic payoff for a title that had been praised for giving Marvel its freshest young-hero formula in years, just issues before Slott's departure from the publisher closed the book at issue #20.

Spider-Boy (vol. 2) was launched in November 2023, spun directly out of Slott and Mark Bagley's Spider-Man run, with Slott writing and Paco Medina as series artist. Issue #18, subtitled 'Full Circle, Chapter 1: Keys to the Kingdom,' was written by Slott with art, inks, and cover by Medina, colors by Erick Arciniega, and letters by Joe Caramagna, under editor Nick Lowe — the same core creative team that had anchored the series from its debut. The issue shipped April 2, 2025, and was later collected in the Spider-Boy Vol. 4: Full Circle trade paperback alongside issues #17–20 and Kidpool & Spider-Boy #1. Slott left Marvel for DC Comics after issue #20, making the 'Full Circle' arc the deliberately structured finale of his stewardship of the character he co-created.
Trivia · 8 facts
- Published April 2, 2025 (cover-dated June 2025) by Marvel Comics; rated T; 20 story pages.
- Written by Dan Slott; art, inks, and cover by Paco Medina; colors by Erick Arciniega; letters by VC's Joe Caramagna; edited by Nick Lowe.
- Story title: 'Full Circle, Chapter 1: Keys to the Kingdom' — the opening chapter of the three-part arc that closes Slott's run on the series.
- Mister Negative (Martin Li) and Madame Monstrosity (Melodia Stillwell) both appear as antagonists, converging on Bailey through a key that Christina Xu possesses which grants access to a Mister Negative-owned bank vault containing files on Madame Monstrosity's Humanimal experiments.
- Spider-Man (Peter Parker) discovers Bailey and Christina's unauthorized plan to raid the bank and confronts them inside, raising the question of whether their partnership will survive — a tension that resolves in a partnership-breaking consequence later in the arc.
- Eli Hartman (Hellifino) and Tabitha Briggs (Bailey's mother, still partly caught in Madame Monstrosity's orbit) appear as supporting characters, deepening the ongoing exploration of Bailey's origin and family.
- May Parker appears in a supporting role consistent with the series' use of the F.E.A.S.T. setting as a connective tissue to the broader Spider-Man world.
- A variant cover by Russell Dauterman was published alongside the standard Paco Medina cover. The issue was subsequently collected in the Spider-Boy TPB Vol. 4: Full Circle (collecting Spider-Boy #17–20 and Kidpool & Spider-Boy #1).
