History

The issue was written by Dan Slott with principal art by Paco Medina, the creative team that had helmed the Spider-Boy series from its launch out of Slott and Mark Bagley's Amazing Spider-Man run. The flashback sequences were drawn by Humberto Ramos — who had co-created Bailey Briggs alongside Slott — though Ramos went uncredited in the printed issue itself, a production detail noted by the Marvel Database. The New Champions program, which seeded Hulkette's design into a variant cover for Sensational She-Hulk #1 by artist Mirka Andolfo before graduating her to in-story canon here, was an editorial initiative running across several Marvel titles in 2024.
