The arc title "Dark Beasts" is practically scratched into the cover's worn, parchment-like surface, hovering above a haunting watercolor-and-ink rendering of a gaunt, shadowy creature — feral and unsettling in equal measure. Ashley Wood's cover art has a raw, almost manuscript quality that feels perfectly suited to this medieval corner of the Spawn universe. Issue #20 of Spawn: The Dark Ages promises something primal lurking just beneath its moody, beautifully decayed surface.
