Published in December 1996 and titled 'Kahn,' the issue was written by Todd McFarlane with pencils by Greg Capullo, inking shared among McFarlane, Danny Miki, and Jason Gorder, colors by Brian Haberlin and Dan Kemp, and lettering and editing by Tom Orzechowski. The Darkchylde preview—penciled by Randy Queen—was included as part of Image's promotional push to introduce the newly acquired title to the existing Spawn readership, and the Darkchylde trade paperback Darkchylde: The Descent later reprinted both the original miniseries and this Spawn interlude together. The issue is dedicated to Robert McFarlane, as noted in the Image Comics Database.
