Spawn #100 is a genuine milestone for Image Comics, and Todd McFarlane's cover — penciled and inked by McFarlane himself — delivers something appropriately monumental: Spawn stands defiantly amid a writhing mass of grotesque demonic creatures, his massive red cape billowing like a storm as chains coil through the chaos surrounding him. The hellish yellow-green sky and the sheer density of tortured, monstrous forms press in from every direction, making the Hellspawn's solitary silhouette feel both embattled and imposing. With Greg Capullo on interior art and a creative team that includes Brian Holguin and Todd McFarlane on the script, "Milestone" is clearly an issue assembled with the weight of 100 issues in mind.
