“Here Was a Man, Part Four”

The fourth chapter of "Here Was a Man" closes out this arc from Jason Aaron and Jason Latour with a cover that radiates raw, desperate violence — a weathered old man gripping a wooden stick, snarling through gritted teeth as he bears down on an opponent in a sea of deep crimson. Latour's artwork bathes the entire scene in that oppressive red palette, making the grim brutality feel almost elemental, like something unavoidable and long overdue. If the first three issues had you gripped, this 2014 Image series clearly isn't letting go quietly.
