Part three of the "Nasty Infections" arc arrives in this mid-1995 Vertigo entry from writer Peter Milligan and artist Richard Case, with inks by Rick Bryant. Duncan Fegredo's painted cover — "Heartless!" — delivers an unsettling image of a young woman sprawled across a striped mattress, a revolver loose in her hand, blood at her lips, and a red heart motif on her shirt, the whole composition radiating the kind of quiet dread this series does so well. It's a striking, melancholy piece of cover art that sets the tone perfectly for one of Vertigo's most psychologically adventurous titles.
