Secret Wars 2099 #3

Two teams of 2099 heroes clash in spectacular fashion across this Dave Rapoza cover, with a Captain America figure and a massive blue-skinned bruiser trading blows at the center while Iron Man 2099, a Hulk, a female Thor-like warrior with blades, and a dark-haired woman conjuring a glowing energy sphere fill out the melee around them. The framing — a blood-red planetary body looming overhead and combatants surging from every corner — gives the whole thing a genuinely epic sense of scale. Peter David, Will Sliney, and Antonio Fabela bring this future-Marvel showdown to life in issue three of this 2015 miniseries.
