Secret Avengers #10
The five-part "Eyes of the Dragon" arc reaches its conclusion here, and Mike Deodato's cover captures the stakes perfectly — Steve Rogers in his blue Captain America suit hurls his shield while wielding a blade, a bare-chested warrior fights alongside him with swords drawn, and a tiny Ant-Man charges in from the left, all three surrounded by an ominous swirling mass of green, tentacled energy. Ed Brubaker and the artistic team of Deodato and Will Conrad, colored by Rain Beredo, bring a genuinely cinematic intensity to this 2011 series. If you've been following the arc, this finale promises the kind of visceral, globe-trotting covert action that made Secret Avengers one of Marvel's more compelling team books of the era.
