Emerging from the shadows of Marvel's Modern Age, Hai-Dai ninja made their debut in Secret Avengers #6 in 2010, courtesy of the masterful team of Ed Brubaker and Mike Deodato. This enigmatic figure haunts the margins of some seriously high-powered company — sharing pages with the likes of Commander Steve Rogers, Hank McCoy, Valkyrie, and Brunnhilde across Secret Avengers and Fearless Defenders. With only a handful of appearances to their name, Hai-Dai ninja is very much a collector's deep cut — the kind of shadowy presence that makes dedicated fans dig through back issues with a flashlight and a grin.
