This late-1998 Vertigo gem closes out "The Goblin" arc with its fourth and final act, written by Steven T. Seagle with art by Guy Davis. The cover — by Gavin Wilson and Richard Bruning — is a wonderfully unsettling photograph of a stitched, burlap-faced doll dressed in a rumpled suit and fedora, seated as though waiting, with an ominous countdown verse reading "Six, Five, Four / Someone's at the Door / Three, Two, One / Someone's Life is Done" setting a deliciously creepy tone. It's a striking, atmospheric image that makes this issue stand out on any shelf.
