Neil Gaiman's "The Kindly Ones" arc reaches its seventh chapter with this September 1994 entry in DC's Vertigo line, featuring a haunting Dave McKean cover that dominates every inch of the image — a softly lit, ethereal face emerges in profile, crowned by sinuous, writhing snakes rendered in deep reds and greens against a shadowy, organic background.
