Sandman #[2]
This Polish edition of Sandman — "Nadzieja w Piekle" (Hope in Hell) — brings Neil Gaiman's haunting vision to Polish readers in a 2002 Egmont Polska release, with script contributions from Paulina Braiter alongside Gaiman, and interior art by Sam Kieth, Mike Dringenberg, and colorist Robbie Busch. Dave McKean's cover is an unsettling, painterly triumph: a face emerges from layers of scorched and tattered manuscript pages, text bleeding through the figure's features as charred paper fragments frame the composition like relics of a burning library. The effect is deeply atmospheric — equal parts portrait and puzzle — perfectly suited to a series that has always lived at the crossroads of dream, myth, and the written word.
