Reggie Mantle is in his element on the tennis court in this 1973 Archie Giant Series entry, where the cover shows him holding court — literally — as a cluster of admiring girls surrounds him with rackets in hand, while two other players chat nearby on the sun-drenched courts. The speech bubbles tell you everything: Coach Kleats has made Reggie the assistant instructor, and someone's already asking who has the best racket, which is exactly the kind of setup Riverdale's most self-satisfied schemer lives for. Written by Frank Doyle with art by Harry Lucey and inking and lettering by Mario Acquaviva, this Giant-sized issue captures the breezy, good-humored charm that made Reggie such an entertaining foil throughout the Archie line.
