Two figures lounge together in the branches of an apple tree — one in a distinctive red military coat, grinning broadly and clutching what appears to be a flintlock pistol, the other relaxed beside him amid the sunlit foliage and birdsong above. It's a rare moment of ease and camaraderie for this series, rendered with Bryan Hitch's characteristically rich, cinematic linework. Geoff Johns and Hitch continue their rollicking collaboration here in this 2025 Image/Ghost Machine release, and this ninth issue promises the same bold energy that's defined the series.
