"The Strange Story of Rattlesnake Dick" follows the exploits of the outlaw Rattlesnake Dick as he commits robberies and evades lawmen across the frontier. Dick boasts that his gang cannot be stopped and plans further crimes, but is eventually captured and jailed. A second story, "Baldy of the Snows," recounts how a sled dog named Baldy redeems itself after its team is blamed for a previous accident, ultimately winning a dogsled race despite initial setbacks. The final story depicts a whaling vessel's repeated encounters with a whale that repeatedly escapes, with the crew ultimately unable to capture it.
