Quick Stops #4

From the Askewniverse comes another slice of convenience-store chaos in Quick Stops #4, written by Kevin Smith with art and cover by Ahmed Raafat. The cover sets the tone perfectly: two deadpan clerks behind a counter hold up a handwritten sign reading "If you plan to shoplift, let us know. Thanks" — and one of them breaks the fourth wall entirely, pointing directly at you with a speech bubble that reads "And same goes for you too, customer looking at this issue!" It's the kind of self-aware, low-key absurdist humor that makes this series such a good time, and with lettering by Andrew Thomas, even the signage feels like part of the joke.
