Prez #2
DC's wonderfully offbeat 1973 series about America's first teen president reaches its second issue with a cover that throws Prez right into the chaos — he's spread-eagle in the Oval Office, desperately trying to fend off a pack of snarling, attacking animals while frightened bystanders cry out "Can't anybody stop them?" The Presidential seal looms behind him, and inset panels introduce villains labeled Robby Fishhead and Queen Errant, promising the "Deadly Chess Men" have truly arrived at the White House. With the tagline billing it as "The Final Chess Match — Russia vs. U.S.A. — Winner Take All!", Jerry Grandenetti's cover art sells the gleeful absurdity of Joe Simon's concept with genuine energy and flair.
