Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's Preacher was already one of Vertigo's most uncompromising titles in 1996, and this tenth issue leans hard into that reputation. Glenn Fabry's cover — "How I Learned to Love the Lord" — puts a brutally beaten man front and center: bloodied face, swollen eye, shirt torn open and soaked red, fists raised in a dusty, fenced-in yard that feels like the edge of nowhere.
