Power Girl #2
The second chapter of DC's 1988 Power Girl four-issue mini-series finds Kara front and center, red cape billowing as she flies into what the cover boldly calls "Into the Web!" — surrounded on all sides by a swirling ring of colorful silhouettes with grasping hands, and at least one horned demonic figure looming in the shadows above. It's a striking, dynamic composition from cover penciler Kerry Gammill and inker Dick Giordano that makes the threat feel genuinely overwhelming without sacrificing Power Girl's determined, unshakeable presence at its heart. With Kupperberg, Hoberg, and Starr at the helm, this mini-series was giving the character a real showcase in the late '80s DC landscape.
