While pledged to watch over Dr. Calvin until she is healed Ka-Zar finds himself stuck in the city. He rescues a pusher from an attack and ends up involved in a turf war. When The Pusher attempts to kidnap Dr. Calvin he stops him and his men but Dr. Calvin has a relapse. Later it turns out that one of the men he took to the police is Dr. Calvin's son.
