Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #297

Part one of "Most Wanted" kicks off with a cover that pulls no punches — Spider-Man's masked face is shown upside-down, his red-and-black suit crumpled and restrained by a sleek metal clamp, suggesting our hero is very much someone's prisoner. Adam Kubert's artwork makes the close-up composition genuinely unsettling, the web-patterned costume bunched and distorted against the dark figure holding him in place. Chip Zdarsky's run on this title has been full of surprises, and this Marvel Legacy chapter looks to raise the stakes in a big way.
