"Out of This World" follows Thor, a powerful being who discovers a magical hammer-like object in a cave that fills him with strange power, though he questions whether his newfound abilities are truly magic. "Counsel from the Spirit" depicts college students who attempt to evoke a spirit from an African idol to play a prank on their friend Cliff, but the spirit that appears becomes involved in a criminal plot when greedy criminals use it to locate hidden treasure in a water drain.
In "Let Sleeping Robots Lie," two men unearth a colossal ancient statue—only to find it’s a dormant robot awakened by sunlight. As it speaks of other machines buried nearby, the robot grows wary of humanity’s trustworthiness, then chooses to retreat beneath the earth once more, shutting down forever.
