Our Army at War #80
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis March 1959 DC war anthology opens with a cover by Jerry Grandenetti that commands attention: a lone U.S. soldier stands with his back to us, a grenade clutched in each fist, squaring off against an enemy tank rumbling through a bombed-out street while gunfire erupts at his feet. The sheer audacity of one man facing down an armored vehicle — framed by crumbling buildings and jagged debris — perfectly sets the stage for the featured story "Tank Bait!" and the other battle-action tales inside. With writing by Robert Kanigher and interior art by Russ Heath, this is a fine example of DC's gritty, grounded approach to war comics at their ten-cent best.
