Our Army at War #158
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeSgt. Rock's face dominates this September 1965 cover in striking fashion — encrusted with ice and icicles, his expression locked in grim determination while German soldiers in the background debate tossing a grenade at what they believe is a frozen American sergeant. Joe Kubert's cover art turns the bitter cold of the battlefield into a vivid visual hook, with a gun barrel jutting into the foreground and enemy troops advancing through a wintry landscape marked by a swastika-emblazoned weapon. Promising "Easy Co.'s Giant War Novel" in the story "Iron Major — Rock Sergeant!", this is a fine example of DC's mid-'60s war comics firing on all cylinders.
