This 1961 DC war title puts Sgt. Rock and the Combat-Happy Joes of Easy Co. front and center in a story billed as "a new battle-twist." Joe Kubert's cover captures two soldiers — one with "Rock" stenciled on his helmet — hugging the ground and returning fire with a bazooka as enemy tank shells streak down toward them and a German tank looms menacingly on the snowy ridge above. With Robert Kanigher writing and Irv Novick on interior art, it's a tense, ground-level slice of WWII action that fans of the series will find hard to pass up.
