“Rise of the New Mutants: Conclusion”

The "Rise of the New Mutants" arc reaches its conclusion here, and Dave Wilkins's cover art announces it with real force — a powerfully built figure crackles with blinding white and blue energy in both hands, his expression fierce against a swirling storm of orange and electric blue. That raw, barely-contained intensity sets the tone perfectly for what promises to be a high-stakes finish to this 2011 storyline. With Zeb Wells writing and Leonard Kirk and Andrew Currie on interiors, this is a satisfying chapter for anyone following the New Mutants through this chapter of their adventures.

Magik's plan for Legion is revealed in the showdown between the X-Men and the elder gods unleashed by General Ulysses. The General and his allies severely underestimate their level of control over those they have summoned. Illyana re-absorbs her bloodstones, and returns Pixie's to her. She tells Pixie that she hopes to at least act like a real girl now, and then goes to tell her older brother that "she's back". But Karma knows the truth.
