New Mutants #19

The "Fall of the New Mutants" arc reaches its conclusion here, and Dave Wilkins's cover sets the mood perfectly — two young women, one silver-haired and one dark-haired and armored with a staff, stand back-to-back amid glowing, war-torn ruins while an enormous golden hand looms ominously in the foreground. There's a quiet, battle-worn gravity to the image that suggests these characters have been through something significant and are standing their ground at the end of it. Zeb Wells and Leonard Kirk deliver the payoff to this 2011 storyline in what promises to be a charged final chapter.
