Roland encounters two mysterious non-human beings in photographs and discovers they are not what they appear to be, leading to visions of strange armed warriors and a warning that evil is coming. The story culminates in another vision where Roland witnesses these otherworldly forces and learns that the beings have compelled the visions upon her against her will.
