Mutt & Jeff #80

Mutt and Jeff are at it again — this time swinging on opposite ends of an enormous crosscut saw looped around a massive tree, their mismatched frames (tall Jeff on one side, stout Mutt on the other) making the whole absurd contraption wobble with pure slapstick energy. Sheldon Mayer's cover captures the duo's timeless comedic chemistry in one perfectly chaotic image. With Bud Fisher's beloved odd-couple strip going strong at DC in 1955, issue #80 is a fine slice of mid-century funny-page fun at a dime a copy.
