Mutant X #29

Mutant X reaches issue #29 with a cover by Michael Golden that crackles with kinetic energy — Havok channels a massive concussive blast that tears apart a hulking cybernetic enemy, while a red-haired figure tumbles helplessly below him against a snowy, forested backdrop. Golden's linework gives the whole image a visceral, almost tactile sense of impact, with circling energy rings and shrapnel exploding outward in every direction. With Howard Mackie writing and the title "Logan's Running" hinting at the kind of high-stakes tension this series does well, this is a satisfying chapter in Mutant X's alternate-Marvel saga.
