Mutant X #30
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe cover of Mutant X #30, with cover art by Michael Golden, pits a ragtag team of heroes against a massive, looming robot that dominates the entire composition — its bulk filling nearly the whole frame as Captain America, a dark-costumed woman unleashing twin energy blasts, Hawkeye drawing his bow, a red-haired figure wielding chains, and a grotesque armored figure all scramble across its chassis to bring it down. That central image of five very different fighters united against one overwhelming mechanical threat has real energy to it, and the "Blame Canada" story title adds a wry sense of humor that makes this 2001 issue feel like something a little unexpected from the Mutant X corner of the Marvel Universe. Howard Mackie's script paired with the kinetic cover work of Michael Golden makes this a satisfying chapter in the series' run.
