In "The Cyclops," a group of WWII survivors, including Captain Niles Ulysses Barret, wash ashore on a remote island where myth and reality blur. Stranded and desperate, they find themselves entangled in a harrowing reenactment of Odysseus’s encounter with the one-eyed giant Polyphemus, as the island’s eerie silence and ancient ruins seem to echo an age-old tale.

In "Contact!", a scientist at a seaside lab reaches out to an alien race, inviting them to his location. When they arrive, their immense size overwhelms the area, crushing his home—only to leave when they find no one to greet them.
