"Torchy" depicts a young woman caring for a baby who is left in her charge, while she prepares for a night out. The second story involves characters participating in a contest where Hooper's Hazelnuts are hidden as prizes; the winners receive a two-dollar bill and are celebrated with the catchphrase "Nuts to you!"
When the Alliance Party sweeps to power in a postwar nation, the Blackhawks soon discover that the victory masks a sinister takeover orchestrated by Skoska, a ruthless operative from a neighboring expansionist power determined to crush the country's fragile democracy. As one of the team infiltrates the capital to investigate, he's captured—forcing Blackhawk and his squad to go undercover and rally the oppressed citizens against the tyrannical puppet regime. It's a race against time to expose the conspiracy and stop Skoska's iron grip from tightening around an entire nation.
A man hired to round up the city's most elusive eccentric, Dogtag, tracks him to a tailor shop—but when his quarry ducks into a nearby dress boutique, a wild game of cat-and-mouse ensues through fashion shows and dressing rooms. In "Perfect Fit," the hunter becomes the hunted in the most unexpected of places, leading to pure comedic chaos that proves catching your target is far trickier than planned.
Will Bragg thought he had a sweetheart in Miss Effy until she won the Quibble Quiz contest and became the glamorous "Damsel of the Day"—suddenly catching the eye of Windy Woffard, the prize announcer, and leaving Will to fume from the sidelines. When a mix-up involving poisoned soap flakes throws the whole boarding house into chaos, Will discovers that a day of glamour might not be worth losing what he had all along.
Rollo scores twenty tickets to the amateur night broadcast of "People Are Nutty!" at radio station WCOO, and when he, Ezra, and Myrna head to the show, they end up volunteered as contestants for a stunt that lands them in serious trouble with the law. With the help of an unexpected ally, the boys discover that not everyone at the station has their best interests at heart—especially when it comes time to claim their prize.
When a fashion model named Choo Choo Lamoe is offered a newsreel opportunity to model the latest in aviation wear, what begins as a ground-based photo shoot takes an unexpectedly cosmic turn—she suddenly finds herself recruited for something far more ambitious. Caught up in the excitement and desperate for her big break, Choo Choo must contend with the reality of what she's actually agreed to when the truth about her new assignment is revealed. It's a lighthearted romp through Hollywood ambition and interplanetary misadventure that proves sometimes the camera catches more than you bargained for.
