Modern Comics #79 is an anthology containing at least two stories. "Dogtag" follows a printer at the U.S. Mint who attempts to impress his boss by taking home a printing machine over the weekend, only to have the device stolen by criminals; the story concludes with the protagonist recovering the machine and receiving a job offer. A second story features a cowboy-themed narrative in which two men compete for a woman's affection through a rodeo contest, with romantic complications and a comedic resolution involving a car and reconciliation.
