Modern Comics #78
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeModern Comics #78 is an anthology featuring two main stories: "Blackhawk Hunts the Deadliest of the Species, Madame Butterfly," in which the Blackhawk team confronts a dangerous female adversary; and "Torchy," a domestic comedy in which a woman declines to run for political office, believing a woman's place is in the home, then becomes involved in a mayoral campaign and various domestic entanglements with her husband Ezra and other characters. The issue showcases both action-adventure and humorous slice-of-life storytelling typical of Quality Comics' output.
The Blackhawks hunt one of the world's deadliest adversaries—a mysterious woman known as Madame Butterfly, whose trail of murder and sabotage reaches across the globe in search of a fabled treasure. When her flying forces, the Caterpillar Legion, strike down the prospectors who hold the secret to the riches, the team must track her to a remote island before she and her sinister schemes claim more lives. Blackhawk himself faces capture and a chilling revelation about the woman's vendetta against the West.
Fuzzy sneaks into the Tinkling Bros. Circus without paying admission and runs into Bobo the clown—who looks so much like him that the two cause complete chaos trying to figure out who's the real performer and who's the imposter. It's a fast, funny mix-up that'll have you laughing at the confusion.
