Mirka Andolfo's gothic series reaches its fifth chapter with a cover that trades menace for quiet heartbreak — a pale, white-haired woman in a sweeping dark coat lies in the snow, cradling a small dark-haired child against her as snowflakes drift around them. The tender, almost mournful composition by Andolfo makes the chapter's subtitle, "Everything Will Be Okay," feel like both a promise and a question.
