“Three Into Two Won't Go!”

Spider-Man swings into action alongside Daredevil on this September 1974 cover penciled by Gil Kane and inked by Frank Giacoia, and the two heroes have their hands full against the returning Unholy Trio — Cat-Man, Bird-Man, and Ape-Man — rendered here in a dynamic mid-air brawl across a steel framework. Spider-Man trades blows with the brutish Ape-Man while a winged Bird-Man swoops overhead and Daredevil charges in from below, making for one of the more visually satisfying team-up covers of the era. With a story by Len Wein titled "Three Into Two Won't Go!," this issue delivers exactly the kind of outnumbered-heroes excitement the Marvel Team-Up series did so well.
