This 1979 reprint showcase puts Spider-Man face-to-face with one of his more dangerous foes, as the cover — penciled by Gil Kane and inked by John Romita — captures the web-slinger lunging toward the glowing, golden-skinned Molten Man, who has just sent a hapless bystander crashing to the ground with a devastating punch. The cover copy declares him "stronger — deadlier than ever," and with rubble flying and onlookers scattering in the background, it's easy to see why. Inside, Gerry Conway's story "The Master Plan of the Molten Man!" — illustrated by John Romita and Paul Reinman — promises a tense clash between Spidey and a villain who looks like he means every word of his boast that no one stands in his way.
