In "The Temple of Abomination!", Jo ventures into a forgotten temple and discovers a dying priest imprisoned by a race of satyrs. When the creatures attack, Jo fights back—only to find their power broken when she kills their leader and destroys his pan flute.

In "Red Sonja," the warrior returns to Pah-Dishah with the serpent’s tiara, seeking the reward promised by King Ghannif. She recalls how the king had sent her to Makkalet under false pretenses, claiming she was to aid in repelling invaders—only for her to trick Conan into helping her steal the relic. Now, back in the city, the king has other plans: he intends to claim her as one of his concubines.
