Red Sonja — the She-Devil with a Sword — storms across this January 1976 cover in magnificent, fiery-haired fury, sword raised and defiant as a charging warhorse and a mass of snarling, grotesque enemies press in from every direction. Frank Thorne and John Romita collaborate on the cover art, packing the composition with wild energy: spears, blades, and monstrous faces crowd the frame while a smaller inset image of Sonja armed with shield and sword anchors the upper corner. Billed as "All-New from the Creator of Conan," this issue — "Blood of the Hunter" — marks a vivid early chapter in Sonja's solo spotlight at Marvel.
