“Weapon-X: Chapter Twelve”

In "Weapon-X: Chapter Twelve," Barry Windsor-Smith delivers a stark, intense chapter of Logan’s torment as he regains consciousness after his brutal transformation. With the Professor, Cornelius, and Hines still alive and believing they’ve secured their safety through implanted memories of their own deaths at his hands, Logan begins his cunning escape from the Weapon X program—only to vanish into the unforgiving Canadian wilderness. The issue’s stark, immersive art by Windsor-Smith, credited across every stage of creation, grounds the story in visceral realism.

Logan returns to his senses after his transformation by Weapon X. The Professor, Cornelius and Hines, still very much alive, congratulate themselves on implanting the memory in Logan's brain of their own deaths at his hand, thus ensuring their safety. But Logan is craftier than they think. Logan escapes the Weapon X program and wanders off into the Canadian wilderness.
