The Blue Beetle himself takes center stage on this March 2007 issue of Manhunter, pressing a finger to his lips with a mischievous grin and a speech bubble that reads "Shh… it's a surprise!" — a playfully conspiratorial cover by Howard Chaykin that practically dares you to flip to the interior. The warm amber-orange backdrop makes that bright blue costume pop in a way that's hard to ignore. With Marc Andreyko writing and Javier Pina on art, "Unleashed Part Two: Chains of Evidence" promises the kind of sharp, character-driven storytelling this series does so well.
