The "Knight Court" arc hits its third chapter with this April 2007 issue, and Kevin Nowlan's cover captures the tension perfectly — Manhunter crouches in the foreground, her orange-and-red armored suit gleaming as she grips a glowing blue staff with focused intensity, while Batman looms behind her against a nighttime cityscape, cape spread wide. It's a striking pairing of two very different dark-side-of-the-law figures, and the body language alone raises plenty of questions about whether they're allies or at odds. Marc Andreyko, Javier Pina, and Robin Riggs keep this underrated series firing on all cylinders.
