The 2025 Magik ongoing was conceived as a long-overdue solo showcase for a character who had spent decades as a supporting player across New Mutants and X-Men titles. Writer Ashley Allen, whose earlier work included the one-shot X-Men: Blood Hunt – Magik, was paired with series artist Germán Peralta for the launch; by issue #9, pencilling duties were shared between Peralta and Matt Horak, with Arthur Hesli on colors and Ariana Maher on letters throughout the run. Editor Darren Shan shepherded the series under executive editor Tom Brevoort, with the book running ten issues before transitioning into the Age of Revelation event.
