Lucifer #2

Part of DC Vertigo's 2019 Sandman Universe relaunch, this second issue of Lucifer carries a Newsarama quote praising it as "rawly rendered and wryly written" — and Tiffany Turrill's cover makes a strong case for that assessment. A wild-haired, red-bearded figure looms over a blood-soaked graveyard of crosses, shovel in hand, with two pallid, crumbling faces staring upward from the foreground in various states of decay. Dan Watters scripts and the Fiumara brothers — Sebastián and Max — illustrate what promises to be a darkly atmospheric chapter, with Dave McCaig's colors no doubt amplifying every unsettling moment.
